Dave graduated from Virginia Tech in 1980 with a BSME degree. Upon graduation he joined Florida Power Corporation where he served progressively as a Plant Engineer, Project Engineer, and Plant Superintendent.

In 1996 Dave joined Carolina Power and Light where he performed as a Turbine Specialist, Outage Implementation Manager, and Site Production Manager. In these roles his duties included overall outage and major project planning and execution, budgeting and cost control, component repairs and purchases, Plant Operations and O&M supervision, and oversight of OEM warranty issues on newly installed units.

From 2002 to the present Dave has been employed by Gainesville Regional Utilities as a Principal Engineer where he provides overall technical support as well as outage and major project management to the utility’s steam and gas turbine fleet.

During Dave’s career he has had experience with a variety of gas turbines, including P&W FT-4 and FT-8 engines, Westinghouse W-191, 251, 301, 501, and GE Frame 5, 7EA, and 7FA units.

Dave has been a member of CTOTF™ since the mid 1980’s and during this 25 plus year association has developed many varied and valuable professional relationships with his peers and vendors. In his new role as Vice Chair of the CTOTF™ GE (E Class) Roundtable he is looking forward to sharing his experiences with current and future CTOTF™ members.

As of the Fall of 2013, Dave accepted the role of Vice Chair of the CTOTF™’s GE (E-Class) Roundtable.

Position Objective:To provide incremental business value to the CTOTF™ membership by facilitating communications, information, and discussion among CTOTF™ members, equipment manufacturers, and service providers for the GE E Classes of combustion turbines and to assist the GE (E-Class) Roundtable Chair and the GE Roundtables Sr. Chair in planning and conducting the GE Roundtables.
Position:GE (7E/EA Class) Roundtable Chair Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities
This Roundtable is provided for Member Users, to exchange information towards resolving problems, issues and concerns, pertaining to GE's E Classes of combustion turbines.

Discussion topics for this Roundtable include: Centerline Equipment and Components, Ancillary Equipment, Inlets, Exhausts, Controls and Protection, Inlet Air Conditioning and Performance Testing of these systems.
